OUR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
Throughout history, the environmental impact of clothing remained relatively minimal, as evidenced by the scarcity of textile fragments found in archaeological records. These fragments serve as rare glimpses into our textile lineage, highlighting the minimal footprint our garments have left behind. By acknowledging the enduring nature of clothing and its limited influence on the environment, we can gain a deeper understanding of the sustainable practices required to mitigate any potential adverse effects. As we navigate the realm of fashion, it becomes increasingly essential to prioritize eco-friendly choices and cultivate a conscious approach that preserves our planet for future generations.
At Bones & Rozes, our commitment to preserving the environment drives us to embrace the historical mindset of a minimal ecological footprint approach.
IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE NATURAL WORLD IS THE GREATEST SOURCE OF EXCITEMENT; THE GREATEST SOURCE OF VISUAL BEAUTY, THE GREATEST SOURCE OF INTELLECTUAL INTEREST. IT IS THE GREATEST SOURCE OF SO MUCH IN LIFE THAT MAKES LIFE WORTH LIVING.
– David Atenborough
Made To Last
We aim to use the best quality fabrics, materials and construction techniques to ensure our garments are durable and made to the highest standards.
Responsible Textiles
We are exacting in our textile selection. We only use natural fibre wool, silks and linens..no polywools. Where possible we select fabrics which comply to Oeko Tex standards.
Supply Chain
We try to work with suppliers to ensure production methods are appropriate to the ecology of their country of origin, and not damaging the local environment by encouraging all producers to reduce their carbon emissions where possible.
Minimise Manufacturing Energy
We try to minimise energy usage, with energy efficient lighting, turning electrical items off when not in use, and ensure that replacement electrical items are as fuel efficient as possible.
Sustainable Printing
Our paper patterns and other printed materials are printed on demand to minimise waste and where possible we use recycled paper stocks.
Plastic Free Packaging
As many boxes from incoming orders and as much waste as possible are re-used. Where possible we make our packaging plastic free and as minimal as possible.
Reduce, Re-use, Recycle
We follow the ‘waste hierarchy’: minimise first; then re-use; then recycle. We even compost our waste from tea and coffee.
Responsible Marketing
We continuously review and streamline our marketing activities to minimise the carbon footprint of digital activities.
